The Haudenosaunee are better known as the "Iroquois Confederacy." The term means, "People building a longhouse together." The Appalachian Confederation takes inspiration from the Haudenosaunee example--just like the United States did[1]--but we are not explicitly made in their image. The Confederation is based far more consciously in the rhizome model, and there are elements of Haudenosaunee life we would prefer to avoid.[2]
